On the TED website you will find a large collection of videos with talks on various subjects by prominent "thinkers and doers". On the site the non-profit organization presents the best of the talks given at their two annual conferences.
TED originally started as a conference to bring together people from Technology, Entertainment, and Design, but now includes subjects from a wider range of areas.
The speakers are told to give the talk of a lifetime in just 18 mins, which I think have produced a lot of interesting, funny, and fascinating talks.
